Is IPL hair removal painful?
Unlike laser hair removal, IPL or Intense Pulsed Light hair removal is often considered safer and less painful. This is because IPL uses a multi-spectrum bulb rather than a single wavelength of laser light. During the treatment, there may be a slight tingling sensation in sensitive areas, but because of the Ice-cooling technology there should be no pain afterwards.
Is hair loss permanent?
By following a scheduled treatment program, you should see up to 90% hair removal results. When using the device, you are destroying hair follicles that are currently in the “anagen” phase of hair growth. Hair that is not in the “anagen” phase may still grow during treatment. Therefore, we recommend maintenance treatments every 1-2 months as needed.
What areas of my body can I use IPL hair removal on?
IPL hair removal is effective to use everywhere that hair grows, including your arms, underarms, hands, legs, chin, neck, back, and bikini line. It is not recommended to use around your eyes without protective eyewear.
Can IPL hair removal be used on all skin types?
IPL hair removal is most effective on light to medium skin tones. Advances in technology have improved its safety and effectiveness on a wider range of skin tones, but individuals with very dark skin may need alternative treatments.
Can I use IPL hair removal on my tattoo?
The short answer is no. The light energy will be more attracted to the pigments in the skin than the melanin in your hair, which can lead to bad skin reactions. You should always use your IPL hair removal around your tattoos.
What is the difference between IPL hair removal and laser hair removal?
- The main difference between IPL and laser is the type of light used. IPL or intense pulsed light, is a broadband pulsed light, whereas laser is a single monochromatic light source.
- IPL and laser technologies both target the melanin in the hair follicle and you can expect permanent results from both. Energy, frequency and hair colour are all determining factors in the efficacy of the treatment, while the light source, whether it is a laser or an intense pulsed flash light plays a minor role.
Do I need to shave before treatment? What other hair removal methods can I use?
Stop! Don't throw away your razor right away! We recommend shaving the area you want to treat 24 hours before your treatment. We do not recommend using other forms of hair removal, such as waxing and tweezing, as these methods inhibit IPL treatment by completely removing the hair root.
Can I remove hair during treatment?
Absolutely! For optimal treatment results, we recommend shaving. Shaving keeps the roots in place and helps target the hair follicles to ensure maximum efficacy and optimal results.
How long does a treatment take?
A full body treatment takes only 10 minutes.
How does the treatment feel?
Most people describe it as a mild tingling or warming sensation. In recent clinical trials, users rated the discomfort of HIKYSKIN treatments at only 2 out of 10. Our Soft-IPL™ device is designed to be used in sensitive areas.
What happens if I miss a treatment?
Don't worry if you miss a treatment, it happens from time to time. Simply get back on track and restart treatment.
How long will my device last?
Our devices are built to last. They have an infinite flash feature so you will never run out of flash.
Can men also use HIKYSKIN products?
Of course! HIKYSKIN devices are gender-neutral, but keep in mind that the results will be permanent. Be sure to complete a patch test before your first treatment.
Do I need a gel to use HIKYSKIN?
No, you do not need a gel to use our device.
If I wear deodorant, can I treat my underarms?
No. To avoid any possible interactions, the skin should always be clean and dry.
Shipping
- HIKYSKIN offers free and fast global shipping with an estimated delivery time of 3-5 business days. However, factors like invalid addresses, customs clearance procedures, and bad weather may extend the delivery time.
- For countries not on the list above, customers are responsible for the shipping cost and duties, please contact service@hikyskin.com to verify the total cost.
- HIKYSKIN ships without customs duties, which means that any customs duties or import taxes will be charged once the parcel reaches the destination country.
- If the customer refuses to accept the parcel due to import duties or taxes, they will be responsible for all return shipping, duties and handling charges.
Please verify that your shipping address is correct before making payment, as this is the address Hikyskin will use for shipping.
- Your package will most likely be delivered within a few days, but it’s good to check with your neighbors and/or the post office for more information in the meantime!
- If you do not receive your order within a couple of days, please email our Customer Service team within 14 days of the last tracking update with your order number and tracking information so we can investigate this for you.the post
Orders
- It normally takes 1-2 business days for HIKYSKIN to process your order. Processing time may vary based on quality inspection, shipping packaging, and product inventory.
- The processing time depends on the quality inspection to ensure product perfection, careful packaging to avoid damage during transportation, and the availability of the product in inventory.
- If you placed the order under your registered account, you can log in to our website with your email and track your order status in "My orders" if you placed the order under your registered account.
- If the order was placed without signing in, please click here and enter your Order Number and Email Address to view your order details.
- We will send you a tracking number to your email once the package has been shipped. You can use this number to track your package.
It is only possible to make a change to your order within 24 hours of placing it and if the order has not been processed. We process orders very quickly, so changes and cancellations cannot always be fulfilled. You must immediately contact our Customer Care team (within 2 hours) at service@hikyskin.com with your change/cancellation request details included.
After 24 hours, a 5% cancellation fee will apply. Once an order is shipped, it cannot be canceled and will need to go through the return process.
Returns and Refunds
- HIKYSKIN supports returns and exchanges within 90 days of purchase. To initiate a return or exchange, contact service@hikyskin.com with your order number, reason for return, and a photo of the item. Returns are subject to evaluation by Hikyskin.
- Once your return or refund request is approved, the refund will be credited to your original payment method within 10-15 business days.
HIKYSKIN does not accept returns for items purchased outside of hikyskin.com, items returned without the original packaging and accessories, products showing physical damage, or items past the 90-day return period.
If you receive a damaged or defective product, take a photo as evidence and contact service@hikyskin.com. HIKYSKIN will arrange a replacement and request the damaged item to be returned for quality control purposes.
If your refund hasn't appeared in your bank account, first check with your bank as processing times may vary. If the refund still isn't visible after some time, contact HIKYSKIN customer service for assistance.
HIKYSKIN offers price adjustments within 7 days of purchase. If eligible, the price difference will be refunded to your original payment method within 7-10 business days. Closeout and final sale items are not eligible for price matching.
Warranty
HIKYSKIN devices are covered for 2 years against defects in workmanship or materials from the original date of purchase. The warranty does not cover regular wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or if the device has been disassembled.
To make a warranty claim, contact HIKYSKIN customer service and provide your purchase receipt and product serial number. Claims must be made within the warranty period, and a service fee may apply in some areas.
No, replacement products do not receive a renewed 2-year warranty. The original warranty period remains in effect.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, including breakage. Only returns due to product quality issues are eligible for exchange.
